Description

The project was developed by Akita Katagami Windfarm. Venti-Japan, Mitsubishi and C-Tech are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51%, 43.9% and 5.1% respectively.

The project generates 142,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 40,000 households.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2020.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Tohoku Electric Power under a power purchase agreement, starting from 2020.

Contractors involved

GE Renewable Energy and Shimizu were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 22 units of 3.2-103 turbines, each with 3MW nameplate capacity.

GE Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2020, for a period of 15 years.
