Power industry tenders in October 2020: Asia-Pacific leads global activity
On comparing tenders activity in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 328 tenders and a share of 43.3% during October 2020, followed by North America with 247 tenders and a 32.6% share and Europe with 108 tenders and a 14.3% share.
In fourth place was Middle East and Africa with 52 tenders and a 6.9% share and in fifth place was South and Central America with 22 tenders and a 2.9% share.
On the basis of the last 12-month average, Asia-Pacific held a lead over others with 497 tenders, followed by North America with 193.

Solar tops by technology in October 2020
Looking at tenders by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 143 tenders and a 47% share, followed by thermal with 121 tenders and a 39.8% share and hydro with 15 tenders and a 4.9% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment during October 2020, with 302 tenders, followed by T&D Project (150) and Power Plant (148).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 386 tenders and a 51% share
- Project Implementation: 207 tenders and a 27.3% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 121 tenders and a 16% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 36 tenders and a 4.8% share
- Electricity Supply: three tenders and a 0.4% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: three tenders and a 0.4% share
- Others: one tender and a 0.1% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

- Delmarva Power & Light (United States): 540MW from one tender
