Europe power industry contracts in February 2022: Germany leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, Germany led the activity in February 2022 with 11 contracts and a share of 14.5%, up 1.2% over the previous month and flat growth when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Spain with 11 contracts and a share of 14.5% and the UK with ten contracts and a share of 13.2% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, the UK held the top spot with 22 contracts, followed by Spain with 18 and France with 16 contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in February 2022
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 34 contracts and a 50.7% share, followed by solar with 21 contracts and a 31.3% share and thermal with four contracts and a 6% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Electricity Procurement was the most popular segment in February 2022, with 25 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (18) and Power Plant (17).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 25 contracts and a 32.9% share
- Supply & Erection: 21 contracts and a 27.6% share
- Project Implementation: 18 contracts and a 23.7% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: eight contracts and a 10.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 5.3% share.
