The project is developed and owned by Enel. The company has a stake of 60%.

Paleisheuwel Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 240 hectares.

The project generates 153GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 48,000 households, offsetting 140,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $152.625m.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 2016.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 82.5MW.

Contractors Involved

algoWatt was selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project.

3Sun was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 611,000 modules each with 125W of nameplate capacity.

The inverters were procured from Elettronica Santerno for the project.

algoWatt is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project for a period of 4 years.
