Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q2 2020 with 88 contracts and a 31% share, followed by Power Plant with 56 contracts and a 19.7% share and Generation Equipment with 45 contracts and a 15.8% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 47 contracts and an 83.9% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: seven contracts and a 12.5% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one contract and a 1.8% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 1.8% share.
Solar is top technology for North America power plant contracts in Q2 2020
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 37 contracts with a 66.1% share, followed by wind with 14 contracts and a 25% share and thermal with three contracts and a 5.4% share.
