Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q4 2019 with 47 contracts and a 30.7% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 41 contracts and a 26.8% share and Power Plant with 38 contracts and a 24.8% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement: 44 contracts and a 93.6% share
  2. Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 4.3% share
  3. Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.1% share.

Solar is top technology for North America electricity procurement contracts in Q4 2019

Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 31 contracts with a 66% share, followed by wind with 12 contracts and a 25.5% share and biopower with two contracts and a 4.3% share.
