Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in December 2020 with 26 contracts and a 37.1% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 21 contracts and a 30% share and Energy Storage with eight contracts and an 11.4% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 20 contracts and a 95.2% share
- Electricity Supply: one contract and a 4.8% share.
Solar is top technology for North America electricity procurement contracts in December 2020
Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 15 contracts with a 71.4% share, followed by wind with four contracts and a 19% share and biopower with one contract and a 4.8% share.
