Enerji has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Poseidon Nickel to implement a power house and a waste heat recovery system at Poseidon’s Windarra mine in Australia.
The firms will enter into negotiations for a power purchase agreement, if site conditions are met.
Enerji will conduct a feasibility study before installing its Opcon Powerbox at the site, which will provide up to 700kW of fuel and emission free power.
The additional power will meet the mine’s power requirements, thereby aiding in increasing the mine throughput.
Construction of the powerhouse and the associated waste heat recovery system will begin later in 2012.
