LS Power Equity Advisors has signed an agreement with TransCanada Corporation to acquire its four power generation facilities for $2.2bn in cash.
The four assets include the 2,480MW Ravenswood in New York, the 778MW Ironwood in Pennsylvania, the 560MW Ocean State Power in Rhode Island, and the 132MW Kibby Wind in Maine.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2017.
Financial and legal advisors to TransCanada for the transaction are J.P. Morgan & Co. and Mayer Brown respectively.
ArcLight Capital Partners has entered a definitive agreement with TransCanada Corporation to acquire 13 of its hydroelectric power stations in New England for $1.06bn.
The assets include the 192MW Moore hydropower plant, the largest conventional hydro station in New England, and 12 other facilities with a combined installed capacity of 392MW.

NextEra Energy has announced a public offering of 12 million shares of its common stock with an option to underwriters to acquire an additional 1.8 million shares to cover any over-allotments.
Underwriters for the offering include Goldman, Sachs & Co., Morgan Stanley & Co., and Bank of America and the legal advisors are Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, and Squire Patton Boggs (US).
The transaction is expected to close on or about 7 November. Proceeds will be used to fund its acquisition of the 20% indirect interest in Oncor Electric Delivery Company from Texas Transmission Holdings Corporation and for general corporate purposes.
GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) has signed a partnership agreement with Southern Nuclear Operating Company (Southern Nuclear) to study the development and licensing of advanced reactors including GEH's PRISM sodium-cooled fast reactor design.
The two companies have also agreed to collaborate in future US Department of Energy advanced reactor licensing projects.
