Encana Corporation has priced a public offering of 107 million shares at $9.35 each to raise $1.45bn.
Credit Suisse Securities (Canada), J.P. Morgan Securities Canada, and J.P. Morgan Securities are the underwriters for the offering and have been granted a 30-day over-allotment option to purchase an additional 16.05 million shares.
The legal advisor to Encana is Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
The offering is expected to close on or before 23 September and the proceeds are intended to fund a portion of its 2017 capital programme and for the repayment of debts.
8point3 Energy Partners has entered an agreement with SunPower Corporation to acquire a 49% stake in the 102MW Henrietta project in Kings County, California, in exchange for $134m.
The Henrietta project is scheduled to start operations in October and the power generated will be sold to Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

InfraRed Capital Partners has acquired the Afton onshore windfarm in Scotland from E.ON Climate & Renewables UK, for £78m ($101.71m).
The 50MW farm is expected to start operations in late 2017 and the power generated from the project will be sold to Neas Energy.

Ardian Infrastructure has acquired an 81% stake in four solar photovoltaic (PV) plants from SolarPack Corporacion Tecnologica for $31m.
Three of the plants have a combined installed capacity of 26.5MW, while the fourth has an installed capacity of 19.4MW.
