Adani Power has announced its intention to raise Rs100bn ($1.5bn) through the issuance of secured and unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures through a private placement, following approval by the company board.
JSW Energy (JSW) has entered an agreement to acquire Jindal Power’s 1,000MW coal-fired power plant in Tamnar in the Raigarh district of India.
The deal value is estimated at Rs65bn ($976.95m), representing $0.97m per megawatt. The transaction is scheduled for completion in June 2018. JSW’s overall power generating capacity will then increase to 5,531MW.
Boralex and Beaupre Eole General Partnership have completed refinancing for the C$617.5m ($490.88m) Seigneurie de Beaupre Windfarms 2 and 3.
This followed the grant of a loan from an international syndicate of banks, including Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, KfW IPEX-Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mizuho Corporate Bank, AKA Ausfuhrkredit, DZ Bank, Laurentian Bank of Canada, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and Credit Industriel et Commercial.
Located in Quebec City in Canada, the windfarms have a combined installed capacity of 364MW.

World Bank Group has reached an agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the provision of $200m to develop two renewable power projects in India.
The first entails the construction of a 300MW solar and windfarm hybrid in the state of Andhra Pradesh (AP), while the second will involve the installation of 25MW floating solar plants across Kerala, AP, and Lakshadweep Islands.
The projects are estimated to require an overall investment of approximately $400m.
