Mutsu Ogawara Port Offshore Wind Farm is an 80MW offshore wind power project. It is planned in Sea of Japan, Aomori, Japan. The project is currently in announced stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2026.

Description

The project is being developed by Mutsu-Ogawara Port Offshore Wind Development and is currently owned by Kita-Nihon Kaiji Kogyo.

The project is expected to generate 190,000MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 52,500 households. The project is expected to offset 115,632t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $306.4m.

The wind power project will consists of 32 turbines each with 2.5 MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2026.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Tohoku Electric Power under a power purchase agreement.
