Miyar is a 120MW hydro power project. It is planned on Miyar Nallah river/basin in Himachal Pradesh, India. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by NTPC.

Miyar is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 9 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 231.81m and 215.54m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 1 in number. The penstock length will be 155m. The penstock diameter will be 3.6m. The project is expected to generate 453.73 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $171.69m.

The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 40MW nameplate capacity.

The project has 3 electric generators that will be installed at the project site.

Development Status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.
