Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2021 with 45 contracts and a 34.1% share, followed by T&D Project with 34 contracts and a 25.8% share and Electricity Procurement with 16 contracts and a 12.1% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 42 contracts and a 93.3% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 4.4% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one contract and a 2.2% share.
Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa power plant contracts in Q4 2021
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for 27 contracts with a 57.4% share, followed by wind with 14 contracts and a 29.8% share and thermal with six contracts and a 12.8% share.
