Middle East and Africa power industry contracts in August 2020: Iran leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, Iran led the activity in August 2020 with three contracts and a share of 15%, down 2.6% over the previous month and flat growth when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by the United Arab Emirates with three contracts and a share of 15% and Egypt with two contracts and a share of 10% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Iran held the top spot with three contracts, followed by Saudi Arabia with three and the United Arab Emirates with two contracts.

Thermal is top technology area for contracts in August 2020
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with four contracts and a 50% share, followed by solar with two contracts and a 25% share and hydro with one contract and a 12.5% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Middle East and Africa as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Project was the most popular segment in August 2020, with eight contracts, followed by Power Plant (6) and T&D Equipment (4).
