Description
The project is being developed by Butwal Power. The project is currently owned by Butwal Power with a stake of 20%, Qing Yuan Engineering Consulting, Sichuan Provincial Investment Group and Chengdu Xingcheng Investment Group.
Lower Manang Marsyangdi is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 418m and 311.1m respectively. The penstock length will be 838m. The penstock diameter will be 3.3m. The project is expected to generate 790 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $199.31m.
The hydro power project consists of 2 units of pelton turbines.
Development Status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Nepal Electricity Authority under a power purchase agreement.
