Description

Ontario Power Generation and Moose Cree First Nation are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 75% and 25% respectively.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 1966.

The power generated from the project is sold to Ontario Power Authority under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 233.3MW.

Kiewit Alarie Partnership was selected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.

Kipling (Kipling Expansion) is equipped with Andritz Hydro propeller turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 80MW nameplate capacity.

Kipling (Kipling Main) is equipped with Dominion Engineering Works propeller turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 78MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied 1 electric generator for the Kipling (Kipling Expansion). The generator capacity is 87 MVA.

Westinghouse Electric supplied electric generator(s) for the Kipling (Kipling Main).
