Jimah Coal Fired Power Plant is a 1,400MW coal fired power project. It is located in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in January 2009.

Description
The project was developed by Jimah Energy Ventures Sdn. The project is currently owned by China Southern Power Grid with a stake of 27.75%, Tenaga Nasional with a stake of 20% and China General Nuclear Power.
It is a steam turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is bituminous. In case of shortage of bituminous the plant can also run on Subbituminous. The fuel is procured from Australia, Indonesia, China & some other countries.
The project cost is $1,740m.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in January 2009.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Tenaga Nasional under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
Contractors Involved
IHI, Sumitomo and Toshiba JSW Power Systems were selected to render EPC services for the coal fired power project.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project. The company provided 2 steam turbines, each with 700MW nameplate capacity.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions supplied electric generator for the project.
IHI supplied steam boiler for the project.
