The power generated from the project is sold to Turkey’s Electricity Generating and Transmission under a power purchase agreement for a period of 16 years. The contracted capacity is 1,584MW.
Contractors Involved
Bechtel-Enka Joint Venture was selected to render EPC services for the gas fired power project.
GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 4 units of 9FA+e gas turbines, each with 256MW nameplate capacity.
GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 2 units of ND41 steam turbines, each with 280MW nameplate capacity.
GE Power supplied electric generator for the project.
John Cockerill Group supplied steam boiler for the project.

Enka Power Systems BV (Enka), a subsidiary of ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS, is a power generating company. It is one of the largest independent power producers of Turkey. It generates electricity using various sources of energy including thermal, natural gas-fired CCPPs, and natural gas-fired SCPPs. Enka owns and operates three thermal power plants, namely, Adapazari, Gebze and Izmir. The company utilizes natural gas for electricity generation in facilities. The company markets electricity to TETAS under an energy sales agreement. The natural gas for the power generation is sourced from BOTAS under the natural gas sale agreement.
