Europe power industry contracts in June 2019: France leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, France led the activity in June 2019 with 24 contracts and a share of 28.9%, up 25.7% over the previous month and down 25% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by the UK with 11 contracts and a share of 13.3% and Spain with six contracts and a share of 7.2% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, France held the top spot with 32 contracts, followed by the UK with 12 and Greece with seven contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in June 2019
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, Wind accounted for the largest proportion with 48 contracts and a 60.8% share, followed by Solar with 17 contracts and a 21.5% share and Hydro with five contracts and a 6.3% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in June 2019, with 35 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (26) and Electricity Procurement (10).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 35 contracts and a 42.2% share
- Supply & Erection: 31 contracts and a 37.3% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: nine contracts and a 10.8% share.
Power contracts in June 2019: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Ministere de la transition ecologique et solidaire (France) with 600MW from one contract
- Ministere de l’Environnement, de l’Energie et de la Mer (France) with 516.5MW from 21 contracts
- Scatec Solar (Norway) with 148MW capacity from one contract.
Power contracts in June 2019: Top winners by capacity
The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- EDF Renewables (France), Enbridge (Canada) and Innogy (Germany) with 600MW from one contract
- Voltalia (France) with 166.8MW from two contracts
- PowerChina Guizhou Engineering (China) with 148MW capacity from one contract.
