Description

The project was developed by York Research and is currently owned by Terra-Gen.

The project generates 11,700MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 7,300 households. The project cost is $40m.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in May 1999.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to TXU Energy Retail under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Contractors Involved

Big Spring (Big Spring I) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V47-660 kW turbines. The phase consists of 42 turbines with 0.66MW nameplate capacity.

Big Spring (Big Spring II) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V66-1.65 MW turbines. The phase consists of 4 turbines with 1.65MW nameplate capacity.

Terra-Gen is the O&M contractor for the wind power project.
