The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation with 14 contracts and a 45.2% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: eight contracts and a 25.8% share
- Supply & Erection: seven contracts and a 22.6% share
- Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 6.5% share.
India tops Asia-Pacific solar power contracts activity
India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology contracts recorded in August 2020 with 17 contracts and a 54.8% share, followed by Australia with five contracts and a 16.1% share and Malaysia with three contracts and a 9.7% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (Afghanistan): 3,000MW from one contract
- NTPC (India): 1,170MW from four contracts
- Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (India): 1,050MW capacity from eight contracts.
