The H1 total for renewable energy auctions was up 467% year on year compared with the total of six auctions in H2 2019.
Asia-Pacific renewable energy auctions in H1 2020: India leads activity
Looking at renewable energy auctions by country, India held the top position with 25 auctions and a share of 73.5% during H1 2020, followed by Kazakhstan with eight auctions and a share of 23.5% and Japan with one auction and a share of 2.9%.
Solar is top technology area for renewable energy auctions in H1 2020
Looking at renewable energy auctions divided by the type of technology in Asia-Pacific, Solar accounted for the largest proportion with 26 auctions and a 74.3% share, followed by Wind with six auctions and a 17.1% share and Hydro with two auctions and a 5.7% share.
