Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in June 2020 with 30 contracts and a 36.6% share, followed by Power Plant with 28 contracts and a 34.1% share and Electricity Procurement with 13 contracts and a 15.9% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 22 contracts and a 78.6% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four contracts and a 14.3% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: two contracts and a 7.1% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant contracts in June 2020
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 16 contracts with a 57.1% share, followed by wind with six contracts and a 21.4% share and hydro with two contracts and a 7.1% share.

The top issuers of power plant contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 10,000MW from eight contracts
- Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan): 1,500MW from one contract
- Akita Yurihonjo Offshore Wind GK (Japan): 700MW capacity from one contract.
