Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in January 2020 with 25 contracts and a 43.9% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 16 contracts and a 28.1% share and Generation Equipment with ten contracts and a 17.5% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 19 contracts and a 76% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: four contracts and a 16% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and an 8% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant contracts in January 2020
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 13 contracts with a 52% share, followed by biopower with six contracts and a 24% share and thermal with four contracts and a 16% share.
