Asia-Pacific power industry contracts in June 2021: China leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, China led the activity in June 2021 with 29 contracts and a share of 29.9%, up 4.6% over the previous month and up 26% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by India with 19 contracts and a share of 19.6% and Vietnam with nine contracts and a share of 9.3% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, China held the top spot with 23 contracts, followed by India with 19 and Australia with ten contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in June 2021
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 33 contracts and a 39.3% share, followed by wind with 31 contracts and a 36.9% share and thermal with 11 contracts and a 13.1% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in June 2021, with 35 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (33) and T&D Project (15).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 35 contracts and a 36.1% share
- Supply & Erection: 33 contracts and a 34% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 15 contracts and a 15.5% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 12 contracts and a 12.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 2.1% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,300MW from three contracts
- Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan): 457MW from one contract
- Trading Construction Works Organization: 350MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Southwest Electric Power Design Institute (China): 1,320MW from one contract
- Acme Solar Holdings Pvt (India): 1,150MW from two contracts
- Abu Dhabi Future Energy (United Arab Emirates): 457MW capacity from one contract.
