Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 2021 with 116 contracts and a 38.3% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 80 contracts and a 26.4% share and Electricity Procurement with 48 contracts and a 15.8% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 70 contracts and an 87.5% share
- Project Implementation: six contracts and a 7.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and a 3.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 1.3% share.
Wind is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment contracts in Q2 2021
Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, wind accounted for 25 contracts with a 31.6% share, followed by solar with 19 contracts and a 24.1% share and thermal with 14 contracts and a 17.7% share.
