About Ministry of Electricity, Iraq
Ministry of Electricity of Iraq (MEI) is a government owned electric commission. It is the principal organization that administers the power sector in the country. The ministry is responsible for generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Iraq. MEI classifies its operations into DG of production, DG of transmission, DG of distribution and DG of projects. The ministry is also responsible for operation maintenance and control; training and development; and importing electricity from neighboring countries such as Syria, Turkey and Iran.
