Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations drive robotics-related hiring activity
Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations, with a share of 26%, emerged as the top robotics-related job roles within the power industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 100% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 21% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 4% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent robotics roles include Management Occupations with a 7% share in Q2 2024, Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in power industry accounted for 49% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Plug Power, Clarios International, Zodiac Pool Systems, EaglePicher Technologies, and First Solar. Together they accounted for a combined share of 49% of all robotics-related new jobs in the power industry.
Plug Power posted 195 robotics-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Clarios International 90 jobs, Zodiac Pool Systems 64 jobs, EaglePicher Technologies 39 jobs, and First Solar 37 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 73.54% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of robotics-related new job postings in the power industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 73.54% followed by the Netherlands (4.35%) and France (3.32%). The share represented by the US was one percentage point higher than the 73.00% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
