The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.8% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.86% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 36.07% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s power industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
NextEra Energy posted 128 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 3.76% over the previous month, followed by Sunrun with 72 jobs and a 55% drop. Duquesne Light with 64 IT jobs and Siemens with 50 jobs, recorded a 54.29% decline and a 42.53% decrease, respectively, while Exelon recorded an increase of 10% with 44 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 50.2%, down by 26.92% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.3% share, registered a decline of 27.61% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 23.6% share, down 35.19% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.89%, recording a month-on-month increase of 120%.
