The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.12% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.49% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.95% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 7.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s power industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
National Grid posted 36 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 12 jobs and a 9.09% growth. Schneider Electric with 11 IT jobs and SSE with 11 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 70.27% decrease, respectively, while Ovo Energy recorded a flat growth with 8 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.06%, down by 21.6% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 15.97% share, registered an increase of 76.92% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 15.28% share, down 33.33% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.69%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
