IT jobs accounted for a 5.07% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering an increase of 0.92% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 47.37% in October 2022, a 107.69% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 17.54% in October 2022, marking a 233.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 12.28% in October 2022, a 30% drop from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 104.76% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Enel posted 11 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 22.22% over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 10 jobs and a 233.33% growth. SSE with 8 IT jobs and SSE Renewables Walney (UK) with 7 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a 133.33% rise, respectively, while Energisa recorded a 250% increase with 7 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 56.14% share in October 2022, a 60% increase over September 2022. Jamaica featured next with a 26.32% share, up 114.29% over the previous month. Chile recorded a 10.53% share, a growth of 100% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.18%, up by 42.86% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.79% share, registered a decline of 10% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.04% share, up 700% over September 2022.
