IT jobs accounted for a 3.58% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering a decrease of 0% over the last three-month average share.
Computer Support Specialists Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Computer Support Specialists Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 27.59% in February 2022, a 14.29% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 27.59% in February 2022, marking a 300% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 24.14% in February 2022, a 46.15% drop from January 2022.

Enel posted 8 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Energisa with 7 jobs and a 250% growth. Iberdrola with 5 IT jobs and Eneva with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Siemens recorded a 66.67% decline with 2 job postings during February 2022.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with an 86.21% share in February 2022, a 25% increase over January 2022. Colombia featured next with a 10.34% share, up 200% over the previous month. Peru recorded a 3.45% share, a flat growth compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.97%, down by 4.76% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20.69% share, registered a growth of 100% compared with the previous month.
