IT jobs accounted for a 6.67% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.37% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 34.19% in November 2022, a 25.95% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25.2% in November 2022, marking a 13.07% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 20.09% in November 2022, a 17.39% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 27.65% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s power industry during November 2022 over previous month.
NextEra Energy posted 134 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered an increase of 4.69% over the previous month, followed by Advanced Energy Industries with 93 jobs and a 3000% growth. Siemens with 75 IT jobs and Sunrun with 70 jobs, recorded a 29.31% rise and a 2.78% drop, respectively, while Stem recorded a 21.52% decline with 62 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s power industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 90.84% share in November 2022, a 24.58% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with a 7.84% share, down 33.08% over the previous month. France recorded a 0.88% share, a growth of 900% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.46%, down by 34.13% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.43% share, registered a decline of 4.3% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 21.76% share, down 19.81% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.35%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
