February 2022 has seen an increase of 1.36% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.35% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering a decrease of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 46.46% in February 2022, a 20.5% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.7% in February 2022, marking an 11.52% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.17% in February 2022, a 5.83% drop from January 2022.

Top five power companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 37.56% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s power industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 125 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a decline of 50% over the previous month, followed by NextEra Energy with 114 jobs and a 49.11% drop. Schneider Electric with 66 IT jobs and Exelon with 46 jobs, recorded a 10.81% drop and a 2.22% rise, respectively, while Dominion Energy recorded a 13.16% increase with 43 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s power industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 96.13% share in February 2022, a 16.66% decrease over January 2022. Canada featured next with a 2.63% share, down 50.68% over the previous month. France recorded a 0.8% share, a growth of 266.67% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.82%, down by 21.97% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.73% share, registered a decline of 13.77% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.94% share, down 16.26% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.51%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
