The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 19.1% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 17.81% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 2.1% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 53.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s power industry during December 2021 over November 2021.
Snowy Hydro posted 21 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 65.57% over the previous month, followed by Origin Energy with 5 jobs and a flat growth. AGL Energy with 4 IT jobs and Siemens with 3 jobs, recorded a 33.33% growth and a 200% growth, respectively, while Iberdrola recorded a decline of 60% with 2 job postings during December 2021.
Entry Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Entry Level jobs held a share of 52.17%, down by 38.46% from November 2021. Junior Level positions with a 30.43% share, registered a decline of 72% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 17.39% share, down 55.56% over November 2021.
