The value marked a decrease of 59.3% over the previous month of $5.62bn and a drop of 41.3% when compared with the last 12-month average of $3.9bn.
The US held a 35.67% share of the global power industry M&A deal value that totalled $6.42bn in January 2021.
In terms of M&A deal activity, the US recorded 36 deals during January 2021, marking a decrease of 23.40% over the previous month and a rise of 24.14% over the 12-month average.
