Xudabao/ Xudapu 3 is a Generation III+ nuclear reactor being developed by Atomstroyexport and China Nuclear Power Engineering, are the main contractors for the project.

The 1,274MW reactor will be operated by Liaoning Nuclear Power. China National Nuclear, Datang International Power Generation and State Development and Investment are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 70%, 20% and 10% respectively.

Xudabao/ Xudapu 3 is a type of PWR reactor. It will feature 163 fuel assemblies in the core of reactor, the place where fission occurs and energy is released.

Development status

The reactor construction is expected to commence from Jul, 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter commercial operation by 2027.
