Description

The project was developed by Suncor Energy and Teck Resources. IKEA Canada and Teck Resources are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 35,000 households, offsetting 200,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The Tubular Steel towers installed at the project site are 80m high.

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in December 2011.

Contractors involved

Hatch was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 55 units of 1.6-82.5 turbines, each with 1.6MW nameplate capacity.

EDF Renewable Services is the O&M contractor for the wind power project.
