Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Vilniaus Kogeneracine Jegaine UAB.
The electricitiy generated from the plant will offset 130,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The process of combustion will be adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2018. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
Contractors involved
Hitachi Zosen Inova Steinmuller is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.
