Description

The project was developed by Taweelah Asia Power. Abu Dhabi National Energy, Marubeni, Pendekar Power Labuan and Kyuden International are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 70%, 14%, 10% and 6% respectively.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Crude Oil. The fuel is procured from Emirates Water and Electricity Co.

Development status

The project got commissioned in 1995.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Emirates Water and Electricity under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Fisia Italiampianti and Sadelmi Power were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 6 units of DKE 2-1063 steam turbines, each with 146MW nameplate capacity.
