Description
The project was developed by Engie, Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy and Nareva Holding. The project is co-owned by Engie and Nareva Holding, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.
The project generates 1,018GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 1,500,000 households, offsetting 900,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Development status
The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in December 2014.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Office National de l'Electricite et de l'Eau Potable under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.072kWh for a period of 20 years, starting from 2014. The contracted capacity is 301.3MW.
Contractors involved
Siemens was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 131 units of SWT-2.3-101 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.
