The project was developed by BayWa r e and HerBo GroenLeven. The project is currently owned by Encavis with a stake of 100%.

Sekdoorn Solar PV Park is a floating solar project which is spread over an area of 9.9 hectares.

The project generates 13,330MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 4,800 households, offsetting 6,465t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in June 2020.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Green Choice under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years, starting from 2020.

Contractors involved

HerBo GroenLeven was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

GCL New Energy Holdings was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 39,544 modules each with 365W of nameplate capacity.

Huawei Technologies (Netherlands) supplied its SUN2000-36KTL inverters to the project site.

Huawei Technologies (Netherlands) supplied its SUN2000-60KTL-M0 inverters to the project site.

Baywa R.E. Operation services is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project for a period of 10 years.
