Description
The project was developed by Dhofar Generating Co SAOG. Mitsui, Acwa Power and Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding Co.S.A.O.G are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 45%, 27% and 10% respectively.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Fuel oil.
Development status
The project got commissioned in January 2018.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Oman Power and Water Procurement under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.
The Gas fired project have been supplied by Doosan Skoda Power and GE Power.
