Description

The project was developed by AES GEO Energy. The AES and Geo Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 89% and 11% respectively.

The electricitiy generated from the plant has offsetted 300,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years. The contracted capacity is 156MW.

Contractors involved

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 52 units of V90-3.0 MW turbines, each with 3MW nameplate capacity.

The AES Bulgaria is the O&M contractor for the wind power project, commencing from the year 2010.
