Description

The project is developed and owned by Akuo Energy Colombia and MPC Energy Solutions. The owners have 50% stake in the project respectively.

Planeta Rica Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project.

The project generates 48,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 10,000 households, offsetting 4,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2021 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in December 2023.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Celsia under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Contractors involved

Mota-Engil Engenharia E Construcao Africa was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

The project is utilising trackers supplied by Arctech Solar Holding.
