Description
Peach Bottom 3 is a Generation II nuclear reactor developed by Bechtel and GE Power, are the main contractors for the project.
The 1,412MW reactor is operated by Constellation Energy Generation. The project is co-owned by Constellation Energy and PSEG Power, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.
The BWR reactor generates 11,532.54GWh/annum of electricity. It features 764 fuel assemblies in the core of reactor, the place where fission occurs and energy is released.

The reactor construction commenced in Jan, 1968 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in Dec, 1974.

GE Power was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the nuclear reactor. The company provided 1 steam turbine for the project. Bechtel and Southern Services (USA) were selected as the architect engineers for the reactor. The reactor system was supplied by GE Power. The reactor vessel has been supplied by BWX Technologies. The material used for the construction of the vessel is Alloyed Steel (ASME SA 336/ SA533B CC1339). The civil works were carried out by Bechtel.
