Description

The project was developed by Okinawa Uruma New Energy. Erex, Kyuden Mirai Energy, Toyo Kanetsu, Okinawa Gas, Kyudenko and Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 44.8%, 20%, 10%, 6.8%, 4.5% and 2.7% respectively.

The project generates 350GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 110,000 households, offsetting 270,200t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in July 2021.
