Description

The project was developed by EDP Renewables Canada. Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation and EDP Renovaveis are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50.01% and 49.99% respectively.

The project generates 306,600MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 28,000 households, offsetting 215,470t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project has 131m high towers.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in June 2021.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Independent Electricity System Operator under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors involved

Enercon was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 29 units of E-138 EP3 / 3.5 MW turbines, each with 3.44MW nameplate capacity.

EDP Renewables Canada is the O&M contractor for the wind power project, commencing from the year 2021.
