Description
The project was developed by Allied Energy Systems. The project is currently owned by China Southern Power Grid with a stake of 20.35% and China General Nuclear Power.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant that is used for Baseload. The fuel is procured from Titas Gas Transmission Company Ltd (Bhakrabad-Dewra Gas Pipeline).

Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Bangladesh Power Development Board under a power purchase agreement for a period of 22 years from 2002. The contracted capacity is 450MW.
